Sue Berry

Sue Berry, 92, of Inman, South Carolina, passed away on March 11, 2026.

Born on May 22, 1933, in East Flat Rock, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Etta Osteen Johnson and Charles Johnson. She was the beloved wife of the late Ravenel H. “Lucky” Berry.

A longtime member of Inman First Free Will Baptist Church, Sue found deep joy in her faith and in music. She served faithfully as a choir member, pianist, and organist. She retired from Leigh Fibers and later from Spartanburg Community College.

Sue is survived by her daughter, Susan Glow and husband Rick of Spartanburg, South Carolina; her son, Charles “Chuck” Berry of Inman, South Carolina; two sisters, Juanita Laughter of Campobello, South Carolina, and Frances Greene of Fletcher, North Carolina; a brother, David Johnson and wife Cathy of Asheville, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Amber Tooke, Kyle Tooke, and Ashley Kay Gilstrap; a chosen granddaughter, Tracy Tapp-Dobbins; and great-grandchildren Peyton Gary, Austyn Tooke, Baron Gilstrap, and Evie Gilstrap. She was predeceased by a son, Ravenel “Buddy” H. Berry III. The family is grateful for the loving care provided by her caregiver, Kathryn Roberts.
