Stuart A. Smith Jr., age 70, of Frederick, Oklahoma, passed away on March 16, 2026. Born on December 13, 1955, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Stuart A. Smith Sr. and Patsy Ruth (Newman) Smith, he grew up in Frederick where he attended local schools and formed lifelong friendships.
In 1984, Stuart married the love of his life, Janice Carol (Wilson) Neugebauer, in Vernon, Texas. The couple shared many happy years together, particularly cherishing their travels and cruises. He built a long career at Schlegel Systems, which evolved through several names including Metzeler Automotive Profile Systems, BTR Sealing Systems, and Henniges Automotive. Stuart held various roles over the years and worked in Information Technology until his retirement. In retirement, he found enjoyment working at Home Depot, where he stayed active and connected with customers.
Stuart possessed a deep love for the outdoors and adventure. He enjoyed riding horses and motorcycles, flying airplanes, hunting, fishing, and playing golf. Those who knew him will remember his adventurous spirit and his genuine love of life.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Smith, of Frederick, Oklahoma; three sons, Rick Neugebauer (Stephanie) of Mustang, Oklahoma, Darren Neugebauer of Yukon, Oklahoma, and Chad Neugebauer of Yukon, Oklahoma; one sister, Jamie Reid (Bob) of Frederick, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Rodney Neugebauer (Ashton) of Frederick, Oklahoma, Casey Reed (Brett) of Yukon, Oklahoma, Darian Rogers (Cody) of Lawton, Oklahoma, Dallas Neugebauer of Yukon, Oklahoma, Chase Neugebauer (Heather) of Rockport, Texas, and Ty Neugebauer of Lawton, Oklahoma; nine great-grandchildren; nieces Sarah Gunter, Abbye Reid, and Karin McKinley; nephews Cody and Clint Reid; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stuart A. Smith Sr. and Patsy Ruth Smith.
