Steven Richard Johnson

Steven Richard Johnson, 61, of New Philadelphia, passed away suddenly on March 10, 2026, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Lydia, his stepchildren Fred, Tim, Robert, and Dennis, his sisters Ginny (Mike) Pellington, Debby (Harold) Dillehay, and Linda (Del) Jones, his aunt, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard “Dick by the Crick” and Janet (Gasser) Johnson.

Born in New Philadelphia in 1964, Steve graduated from NPHS in 1983. He and Lydia spent more than two decades living in Texas before returning to the family home by the crick. Steve had a gift for making people laugh and loved gathering around the campfire to tell stories and jokes. His warmth and humor left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
