Steven R. Merriott

Steven R. Merriott, age 62, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026, in Warsaw. Born in Columbia, Missouri on March 4, 1964, he was the son of Roy C. Merriott, Jr. and Wanda Pipes Merriott. Raised in the Hallsville and Columbia area, Steven graduated from Hallsville High School. He later worked in construction and at area elevators before moving to Warsaw in 2012.

An avid athlete, Steven played a great deal of slow-pitch softball in his younger years. His true passions, however, were hunting, fishing, and following the Kansas City Chiefs, a loyalty he maintained long before the team’s success. His everyday wardrobe of Chiefs gear and camouflage reflected those loves. Above all, he was an outstanding father to his daughters and the very best Papa to his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roy. Steven is survived by his mother, Wanda; three daughters, Heather Merriott, Cortney Merriott, and Kelli Merriott; seven grandchildren, Evan, Rori, Bailey, Kaydn, Tinli, Zander, and Zavien; a special friend, Michelle Mather; a brother, Roy Merriott; a sister, Tracy Merriott Jenkins; and many other relatives and friends.
