Frankfort, IL
Steven M. Levy, 77, of Frankfort, Illinois, passed away after a life marked by quiet strength, devotion to family, and a deep satisfaction in work well done. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara M. Levy (née Bojak), who preceded him in death in 2008, and the loving husband of Beverly Saxton-Levy, whom he married in 2012. Steve was a dedicated father to Lynnessa R. (Tim) Currie, Brian M. (Rebecca) Levy, and Rebecca L. (Stuart) Jordan, and a devoted stepfather to Blaine Saxton and Tuesdae (Todd) Rice. He took great pride in his role as Papa to Oliver Levy, Charlie Levy, Elliot Levy, Benjamin Currie, Kaylee Currie, Nolan Jordan, Cole Jordan, Thomas Rice, Sophia Alice Rice, Evelyn Saxton, and Eden Saxton. He was also a kind uncle to many nieces and nephews and was adored by his cherished pets Avery, Maxie, Frostie, and Tess.
Steve shared a close bond with his siblings, the late Roberta (late Bob) Kotschi, Joseph (Lana) Levy, the late Robert (Joyce) Levy, and Debra (Dave) Diaz. After 36 years of dedicated service, he retired as Deputy Chief Engineer from the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago. In retirement, he divided his time between Illinois and North Carolina, where he enjoyed golf, woodworking, and tackling do-it-yourself projects, always finding joy in building and repairing things with his own hands.
He leaves behind a large and loving family who will remember him for his steady presence, caring heart, and the pride he took in those he loved.
