October 7, 1962— March 15, 2026
Shelby, NC
SHELBY- With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Steven "Steve" Lee Moore, who left this world on March 15, 2025, at the age of 62. Born on October 7, 1962, in Cleveland County, Steve's journey concluded in Shelby, surrounded by the love of his cherished family.
Steve was a man of quiet strength and subtle humor. While initially reserved, those fortunate enough to know him quickly discovered his sharp wit and sarcastic charm. His love for life was evident in his passion for the great outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Steve found joy in the roar of engines and the thrill of dirt track racing, and his enthusiasm for Crest High Football was infectious.
A kind soul, Steve had a special affinity for dogs, often declaring them to be better company than humans. His loyalty and unwavering love for his family mirrored the devotion he showed to his four-legged companions.
Steve was a member of Mulls Memorial Baptist Church, where he found community and solace throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Leroy and Alma Moore, and his brother, Robbie Moore.
He leaves behind a legacy of love through his surviving family: his wife, Alicia Moore; his son, Chris Moore, and wife, Samantha; his daughter, Kali Mullinax, and husband, Seth; and his adored grandchildren, Harper, Madelyn, and Charleigh, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his beloved aunt, Betty Jean Buff, along with countless friends who became family over the years.
A gathering of friends will take place on Thursday, March 19, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home. We invite all who knew him to come and celebrate a life well-lived.
Though Steve is no longer with us in body, his spirit remains alive in the memories and stories shared by those who loved him. May his life inspire us to cherish every moment and hold our loved ones close. Rest peacefully, Steve; you will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
