Steven Harald Fredricks

Passed March 13, 2026

Center Moriches, NY

Steven Harald Fredricks, 62, of Center Moriches, New York, passed away suddenly on March 13, 2026.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Steve was the son of the late William Fredricks and Marit Fredricks. He grew up in Huntington Station, New York, where he attended Walt Whitman High School, graduating in 1982. He later attended Stony Brook University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. Steve built a successful career working for Cigna Insurance, where he was known for his professionalism, integrity, and strong work ethic.

Steve was the beloved husband of Eileen Fredricks, with whom he shared 36 wonderful years of marriage. Their story began years earlier when they first met in junior high school and grew up together, forming a bond that would last a lifetime.

He was a devoted father to his daughter, Caitlin Litterello and her husband Anthony, and his son, Christopher Fredricks and his girlfriend Olivia D’Anna. Steve was also a proud and loving “Pop Pop” to his grandchildren, Vincent and Maggie, who brought him immense joy.

He is also survived by his sister, Kim Schorr and her husband Tom, and his nieces Kari-Ana Jensen and her husband Karl Jensen, Kelsey DeStefano and her husband Aaron DeStefano, and Greta Perucci and her husband Ryan Perucci, along with their daughter Daisy Perucci. Steve cherished his extended family and also remained closely connected to lifelong friends he had known since childhood.

Steve was the foundation of his family—a dependable, loving, and deeply devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He rarely missed his children’s sporting events, fine arts performances, or school functions. Over the years, the family shared many cherished trips, including annual vacations to Virginia Beach, visits to Disney World, and later numerous cruises together. One particularly meaningful journey took him to Europe, where he was able to visit Norway, the homeland of his family.

An avid and passionate golfer, Steve was widely known among friends as an excellent amateur golfer who played many of Long Island’s most well-known courses. Some of his most treasured memories were made on the course playing alongside his father, his son-in-law, and lifelong friends.

For most of their marriage, Steve and Eileen lived in Smithtown, New York, where they raised their children. Two years ago they moved to Center Moriches, where they became part of the community at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church. Steve especially loved living closer to Caitlin and her family, cherishing the opportunity to see his grandchildren often and be an active part of their daily lives.

Above all else, Steve was known as a faithful friend and a man you could always count on. He embodied the very best qualities of a beloved husband, devoted father and grandfather, and loyal friend. His quiet strength, generosity, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
