Steven Bruce Jensen

Steven Bruce Jensen, age 78, of Burley, passed away on March 7, 2026, at his home in Burley.

Born on July 20, 1947, in Rapid City, South Dakota, Steven was the youngest of three children born to Wayne Kenneth Jensen Sr. and Alice Marie (Johnson) Jensen. He grew up in South Dakota, later married Phyllis Marie Cornish, and the couple later divorced. He moved to Reno, Nevada, to be near his brother, and there he met Cathy Neyhart. They married in 2015. In June 2016, they relocated to Buhl, Idaho, where they lived for several years before settling in Burley in 2022.

Steve had a deep love for NASCAR, often spending hours watching races, practice sessions, and qualifiers. He also enjoyed admiring and tinkering with antique cars and found great pleasure in fishing. An animal lover at heart, he befriended every creature he encountered, including a feral cat that would regularly jump into his lap when he sat outside.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Wayne Kenneth Jensen Jr. “Doc,” and his sister Sandra Lea Daniels. Steve is survived by his wife Cathy, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He cherished his family deeply, and his face would light up whenever he spoke of them. He will be greatly missed.
