Steve Albin ObituaryPublished by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 9, 2026.Steve Albin was a loving son, brother, husband, father, father-figure, cousin, grandfather and friend. He was born May 30, 1943 in Oakland, CA and his family moved to Los Altos soon after.He married his high school sweetheart, Donna, in 1964 and they raised three healthy children in Los Altos. Steve loved the countryside and in 1980, he and Donna bought property in Jamestown, CA and built a retreat for the family to enjoy year-round. He felt a deep sense of peace in the surroundings of nature, his trees and the picturesque landscape. Steve and Donna also spent many summers visiting Kennedy Meadows, an hour north of Jamestown, where they rode horses, camped, fished and hiked with their family and closest friends. Steve was an entrepreneur and operated his own custom frame shop business, Stephen Albin Picture Framing, at Rancho Shopping Center for more than 42 years. In 2011, Steve was diagnosed with amyloidosis, a rare disease of an abnormal buildup amyloid fibrils in his heart and in 2015, he was matched with a heart donor and underwent heart transplant surgery. He was gifted another 10+ years of life.Steve was a true people-person and loved to visit, play his guitar, sing, write song lyrics, create products, fix things, tell jokes, take his dog Lucy for a walk, and spend time with his family, dear friends and grandkids. On January 23, 2026, Steve passed away peacefully at home in Los Altos, surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Donna Albin, three kids and their spouses and seven grandchildren. He will be missed dearly.
