Stephen Wayne Ousley

1952 — 2026

Brunswick, MO

Stephen Wayne Ousley, 73, of rural Brunswick, Missouri, passed away at his home on March 9, 2026.

Born on August 22, 1952, in Brunswick, Steve was the son of Victor and Mildred (Reigelsberger) Ousley. He attended St. Boniface grade school and graduated from Brunswick High School in 1970. A lifelong resident of Brunswick, he built a respected career as a row crop farmer, cattleman, and business owner. He cultivated several farms, raising primarily corn, soybeans, and wheat, and bred Black Angus cattle. In earlier years he also raised pigs. For many years he worked at the Brunswick sale barn and was part of the Ousley feed lot. He owned and co-owned several local businesses, including the Brunswick Grain Elevator, Ousley Feedlot, Doughboy Feed, Pioneer Seed, and storage units in town.

Steve was deeply involved in his community, serving as a member of the FFA, Water Board, Cattlemen’s Association, Knights of Columbus, Hale Tractor Pullers Association, and St. Boniface Catholic Church, as well as attending St. Raphael Catholic Church at Indian Grove. Known for his charismatic personality, he never met a stranger. He greeted others with a ready smile, a kind and light-hearted spirit, and a willingness to lend a helping hand or share a good laugh. He cherished mornings spent drinking coffee with friends, evenings enjoying soft serve ice cream, and time outdoors with family and friends. He also found great joy in collecting and restoring antique International Harvester tractors and competing in tractor pulls.

Steve is survived by his daughters, Christine Ross and her husband Darren of Edgerton, Kansas, and Theresa Ousley of Texas; his brothers, Myron Ousley of Marshall, Missouri, and Victor Lee Ousley and his wife Dorothy of Brunswick; four grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Mildred Ousley, and his stepmother, JoAnn Ousley.
