Stephen Roger Hanson

Stephen Hanson, 68, of Fargo, ND, passed away on February 24, 2026. Born on March 1, 1957, to Roger and Margaret Hanson in Bloomington, MN, Steve grew up in the Battle Lake area, where he graduated from Battle Lake High School. He served his country as a U.S. Air Force veteran and later worked for American Crystal in Moorhead. A devoted sports fan, he remained a loyal supporter of the Red Hawks and Bison throughout his life.

Steve is survived by his son, Steve of Bismarck, ND; his step-son, Jason of Wahpeton, ND; his mother, Margaret Hanson of Arizona; his brother, Rick; and his sisters, Cheryl and Gail. He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Hanson, and his sister, Karen.

He will be remembered as a man who valued family, service, and the simple joys found in the games he loved. A private memorial service will be held at a later date, with burial at Fargo National Cemetery in Harwood, ND.
