Stephen Puopolo ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home from Mar. 3 to Mar. 4, 2026.STEPHEN EDWARD PUOPOLO – Of Tewksbury, formerly of Woburn and Canton, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, at the age of 52, following a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer.Born in Boston on October 11, 1973, Stephen was the loving son of the late Edward V. and Rosemary C. "Carole" (Collins) Puopolo. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Katherine J. (Carrigan) "Kate" Puopolo, with whom he shared 18 wonderful years of marriage. Married on November 10, 2007, theirs was a partnership built on loyalty, laughter, and unwavering devotion. He was the proud and devoted father of Edward "Eddie" Puopolo (13) and Margaret Puopolo (10), who were the center of his world.A graduate of Xaverian Brothers High School, Class of 1992, Stephen went on to earn his bachelor's degree from Northeastern University. He built a successful career in finance, working for more than 20 years, most recently serving as an Executive Director at J.P. Morgan. He was respected not only for his intelligence and work ethic, but also for his integrity and steady leadership. To those who knew him best, Stephen's personality shone brightest at home and among friends, especially the "Top 7". He was fiercely loyal to his family - protective of his siblings, generous with his time, and endlessly supportive. His greatest joy in life was being a father. Whether cheering from the sidelines, teaching his children how to cook, or simply sharing a laugh at the dinner table, he made sure Eddie and Margaret always felt loved and encouraged.Stephen was an amazing cook and was especially known for his holiday dinners, which became treasured family traditions.A devoted Star Wars fan, Stephen proudly shared his love of a galaxy far, far away with his children. He delighted in quoting favorite lines, debating characters, and introducing Eddie and Margaret to the original trilogy. He believed deeply in the saga's timeless themes of hope, courage, redemption, and the triumph of good - values he lived every day. Like the heroes he admired, Stephen faced his illness with strength and bravery, never losing his faith in himself or those around him.He was also an avid reader who enjoyed science fiction, collecting medieval weaponry, and starting his mornings with a Dunkin' iced coffee. He valued loyalty, tradition, and time spent with those he loved. He was a devoted brother to Edward Puopolo of Halifax; Kimberly Larcom and her husband, Rodney, of Bridgewater; Roslynne Puopolo-Malonson and her husband, Roger, of Florida; Robert Puopolo and his wife, Merrill, of Wellesley; and Brian Puopolo of Bellingham. He was the cherished son-in-law of Elaine Carrigan of Woburn and a loving nephew of Joan Collins and Theresa Woods. Stephen was a proud and fun-loving uncle to Ashley, Dominic, Shelbi, Jonathan, Olivia, Sofia, John, Michael, and Patrick, as well as three great-nephews and one great-niece. He is also survived by his extended Carrigan family, his lifelong group of friends affectionately known as the "Top 7," and many other dear friends and cousins.Stephen's Funeral Mass will be held on SATURDAY, March 7th at 10 a.m. in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn.
