Stephen Duane Fowler, 58, of Clanton, Alabama, passed away on March 10, 2026, surrounded by his wife, mother, two children, and other close family members.

Born on November 17, 1967, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Stephen was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, cousin, and uncle. He touched the lives of many with his profound sense of humor, warmth, creativity, charisma, and outgoing nature. A kind soul with a brilliant mind, disarming wit, and an empathetic heart, Stephen had the rare ability to connect with almost anyone he met.

He graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and later earned a Doctor of Law degree from the Birmingham School of Law.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Carla Fowler; his children, Dakota Fowler and Ashley Fowler George; his mother, Andrea Fowler-Kee; his father, Ronald Fowler; his stepfather, Robert Kee; his sister, Renee Fowler Boothe; his granddaughter, Ella Overholser; his nephew, Austin Boothe; his niece, Alyssa Boothe Gentile; his brother-in-law, Wade Boothe; his aunt, Beatrice Woodard; his uncle, Donald Smith; and his cousins, Brent Woodard, Channing Woodard, Cindy Smith Vance, Adam Smith, and Andy Smith—all of whom will forever cherish his memory. He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Calvin Fowler and Arthur Smith; his grandmothers, Erna Mae Fowler and Cora Smith; and his aunt, Augusta Kelly.
