Stephen Douglas Lynch
September 22, 1968— March 8, 2026
Louisville, KY
Stephen Douglas “Steve” Lynch, 57, of Louisville, passed away on March 8, 2026, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. His beloved canine companion, Daisy, passed with him.
Born on September 22, 1968, in Louisville, Steve was the youngest of seven children born to the late Robert Joseph Lynch and Emma Jane Billings Lynch. A graduate of Waggener High School, he worked for more than thirty years alongside his brother Chris in lawn and landscape care, a partnership that deepened their bond into an unbreakable friendship. He later worked for the Census Bureau in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
Steve was known for his honesty, quiet faith, and warm heart. He never met a stranger, greeting everyone with genuine kindness and his unmistakable, far-reaching laugh. His bright smile and easygoing nature left a lasting impression on all who knew him. A free spirit with an old soul, he lived a simple life filled with the things he loved most—music, shooting pool, fishing with his brother, and caring for Daisy. She was his constant companion, his baby, and the two shared a daily routine of driving familiar routes and running together at the football fields in St. Matthews.
He is survived by his siblings, Jane Graven (Jim), Patty Vetter (Louie), Linda Jones (Bruce), Bob Lynch (Janet), Alice Kustes (Al), and Chris Lynch (Rowinna), along with eighteen nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews.
