Stephen Daniel Culver
June 1, 1953— March 6, 2026
Rockport, TX
Stephen Daniel Culver, 72, of Rockport, Texas, passed away on March 6, 2026.
Stephen was born on June 1, 1953, in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, he was the beloved son of Daniel Lee and Lucille Gray Culver. He later moved to Greenville, South Carolina, where he attended Berea High School and played varsity football as a center on the defensive squad. After graduating, he began working for Coca-Cola in sales in Greenville before moving to Houston, Texas, where he worked for Dr Pepper as a top salesman.
While in Houston, Stephen met the love of his life, Debra Egan. They were married on September 9, 1990, and shared 35 wonderful years together. Stephen later became a general contractor and was known by many as a true “jack of all trades,” someone friends and neighbors could always count on to fix just about anything. Eventually the family settled in Rockport, TX.
Stephen was known for his humor, humility, and willingness to help anyone in need. He was happiest surrounded by family, fixing something with a DeWalt drill in hand and college football on TV. Those who knew him will remember his sweetness, his quiet generosity, and the many ways he showed love through acts of service.
He is survived by his loving wife, Debra Culver; his children, Abigail Culver Duclos (Rob) of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Amanda Culver Lerman (Michael) of Pearland, Texas, Audra Culver of Rockport, Texas, and Seth Culver (Madison) of Corpus Christi, Texas; his grandchildren, Averee and Carter Duclos of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Everly and Eliza Lerman of Pearland, Texas, and Aiden and Ashtyn Culver of Corpus Christi, Texas; and his sister, Connie Long of Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Visitation will be held March 11, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Rockport, Texas. Flowers may be sent to the funeral home in his honor.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved by those whose lives he touched.
