Stephen D. Brodeur

1954 — 2026

Warwick, RI

Stephen D. Brodeur, age 71, passed away on March 10, 2026, at his home in Warwick. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Leo R. Brodeur and Corinne A. (Rankin) Rebello.

After completing his university studies, Steve joined the Peace Corps and spent several years in Africa, where he earned great respect for his work engineering rivers and bridges. He later lived in Germany before returning to Rhode Island, where he built a distinguished career as a talented architect and contractor. He took deep pride in creating homes throughout the state.

Steve cherished time at the beach and in the outdoors, but nothing meant more to him than the company of his close circle of friends, many of whom had been by his side since their teenage years. He was the devoted father of Renee Brodeur and her husband, Mark Platsis, and the proud grandfather of River and Sebastian. He is survived by his sister Patrice Dupre, his brother Scott Rebello, and the late Melia Amore and Denise Brodeur, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who brought him great joy.
