Stephen A. Laird

Stephen Laird, a proud United States Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, passed away on March 13, 2026. Predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Gloria Laird, he is survived by his loving wife, Florentina Laird; his daughter, Michelle Laird; grandchildren Janessa and Jaelynn; and great-grandchildren Antonio and Jeremiah. He is also survived by his sisters, Sharon Reed and Patricia Laird, along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and dear friends.

Stephen retired after 35 years of dedicated service with the County of Monroe’s Department of Public Works. He found great joy in fishing, grilling outdoors, and faithfully preparing Aunt Annie’s hot pickle recipe each August. Those who knew him will remember his steady presence and quiet dedication to the people and pastimes he loved.

He will be deeply missed by his family and all whose lives he touched. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Falls Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in his memory.
