Stephanie Sweet

Stephanie Sweet, 80, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on Thursday, March 11, 2026, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. She will be remembered for her kind heart, her love of reading, and the deep joy she found in spending time with those closest to her.

Born on June 10, 1945, in Toledo, Ohio, to Samuel and Mary (Bartha) Thomas, Stephanie was a proud graduate of Waite High School. She soon met and married the love of her life, Allen Sweet. Together they built a life centered on family, raising their two sons, Jason and Brian, who were the pride and joy of her life.

Stephanie found happiness in the simple things. She loved getting lost in a good book and cherished quiet moments at home as well as the laughter and warmth shared with her family.

She will be deeply missed by her sons, Jason (Becky) and Brian; grandchildren, Christopher and Tony; sisters, Katie and Andrea (Jim); and significant other, Tom Hilding. Stephanie was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Mary Thomas; her husband, Allen; and her brother, Sam.
