Stephanie Mechelle Cannon

Stephanie Mechelle Cannon passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, at New York Presbyterian Medical Center. Born on September 22, 1958, in Americus, Georgia, to James Lafayette Cannon and Ruth Harris Cannon, she brought warmth and generosity to everyone whose life she touched.

Stephanie was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Known for her jovial spirit and her constant willingness to help others, she found her deepest joy in loving, nurturing, and supporting her sons. They were truly the delight of her heart.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Kenyon L. Cannon and Alan Jordan; her adored granddaughter, Trinity S. Cannon; her sisters, Ira Cannon Thomas and her husband Ron, and Trecia Nicole Cannon; her brother, James Lafayette Cannon; her sisters-in-law, Robin D. Cannon and Hariette Cannon; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, her son Alexander L. Jordan, and her brothers Hilliard Cannon III and Robert Cannon.
