Stephanie Motz ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home & Crematory on Mar. 13, 2026.With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Stephanie Jean Motz, age 77, on March 12, 2026. Born on March 23, 1948, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Arthur and Hazel (nee Weber) Blum, Stephanie was known for her kindness, warmth, sense of humor, and big laugh!A lifelong resident of Cincinnati, and a graduate of Colerain High School, Stephanie went on to pursue a career in cosmetology making the ladies who sat in her chair feel beautiful, confident, and cared for. Stephanie was a devoted wife of 56 years to her husband, Robert "Bob" Motz, and an expert teller of the oft sought after "Bob stories" that kept family, friends, and strangers alike in stitches. She was a loving mother to her daughters, Amy Motz and Julie (Jeremy) Gryder. A Girl Scout since childhood herself, Stephanie relished the opportunity to be a troop leader for both of her daughters. Some of her most cherished friendships were born of those years and resulted in those women (Affectionately known as the Nutsies) coming together to helm a neighborhood Girl Scout Day Camp which served more than 6,000 girls over her 20 years as Director. She cherished her role as a grandmother to Braden Meyer, Reagan Meyer, and Payton Gryder, finding immense joy in their laughter and accomplishments. She never missed an opportunity to spend time with them and they never heard the word No when Grandma was around! Stephanie is further survived by her sister, Barbara (Martin) Nash, and her brother, Art John (Faye) Blum, who will forever remember her love, laughter, and support. She was also cherished by many nieces and nephews who speak of her sweet, sunny disposition and loved having game nights with Aunt TeTe.A true friend to everyone she met, Stephanie had a unique ability to make others feel special and valued. Her enthusiasm for life extended to her many social clubs-she never met a card club she didn't want to join! At last count she was in 4. Her playful spirit and competitive nature at the table were unmatched and she was a frequent scorekeeper…and winner! Hmmm…. Stephanie was also a charter member of The MadHatters Red Hats Group and had a standing monthly luncheon with her High School friends. She will be deeply missed by so many but her legacy of love, friendship, and joy in the lives of those she touched will continue to shine brightly.A public Celebration of Life for Stephanie will be held Sunday, March 22 from 3-6 pm at Pebble Creek Golf Course, Restaurant & Event Center, 9799 Prechtel Road, Cincinnati OH 45252. Stephanie loved yellow and red so please feel free to honor her by wearing them.Memorial contributions in honor of Stephanie can be made to the Ehlers-Danlos Society by visiting https://www.ehlers-danlos.com/ or to a charity of one's choice. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
