Louisville, KY

Stephanie Jean Curd, aged 48, of Louisville, Kentucky, departed from this world on Friday, March 6, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.

Stephanie was the embodiment of compassion—a devoted mother, cherished daughter, beloved sister, adoring grandmother, and a dear friend to many. Her gentle spirit and caring nature touched the lives of everyone she met. She was a comforting presence, always ready to lend an ear or share a laugh, day or night. In her downtime, you could often find her enjoying the melodies of Reba McEntire, or captivated by episodes of Family Feud and her favorite gaming shows.

A faithful Christian, Stephanie devoted her life to her faith and the teachings of Jesus. She shared her journey with her loving companion, Larry Wateis, whose unwavering support enriched her life in countless ways. Together, they created beautiful memories that will be forever cherished.

Born on August 22, 1977, in Louisville, Kentucky, Stephanie was the daughter of Billy and Beverly Kessinger. She was deeply saddened by the loss of her mother, Beverly, who preceded her in death.

Stephanie leaves a beloved family behind, including her father, Billy Kessinger; her sons, Logan Curd and Cody Kessinger; her daughter, Christina Curd; her siblings, Jennifer (Brian) Yates, Aaron Kessinger, and Crystal Chesser; as well as four beautiful grandchildren. She also holds a special place in the hearts of her extended family and friends, who will forever honor her memory.
