Preserve forever →Stephanie G. Bilderbeck
October 11, 1957— March 7, 2026
Albuquerque, NM
Albuquerque lost one of its most dedicated amateur actresses, Stefanie Bilderbeck, on March 7, 2026. Stef bravely faced the many challenges of a long illness. She will be deeply missed.
Born in Albuquerque, Stef grew up with two brothers, Mitch (London, England) and Jeff (Alamosa. Colorado). She was not happy to leave her high school friends in Albuquerque when the family moved to Jemez Springs to live in a house her father, Ward Bilderbeck, built. Stef adapted thanks to her friendly personality. She became a star basketball player for the Jemez Valley High School. Her mother and best friend, Janet Woodard Bilderbeck, taught at the high school.
After high school, and a few years at Eastern New Mexico University, Stef moved back to Albuquerque. Edgewood became home when a tall, young man, Bruce Gorbett, caught her eye.
Stef loved her career as a legal secretary. She was devoted to her family, her many friends, and her adored pets, which include her first cat, Milkbone. Stef’s distinctive, mischievous laugh revealed her fun-loving soul, which brightened every life she touched.
All who knew Stef thank Bruce Gorbett, her long-time companion, and his mother, Yvonne Gorbett, for providing decades of love, care and adventure!! Too, thanks are extended to Margo Reaves for her steadfast and non-judgemental friendship.
Words are too weak … when love has been so strong!
A life celebration will be held in the near future.
