Shelby Township, MI
Stanley Zacny, age 85, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. Born on February 12, 1941, in Poland, he immigrated to the United States in 1972 and began a new life in his adopted country. In 1974, he married his beloved wife, Alicja, and together they created a life rooted in family, hard work, and community. In time, they opened Krakus Polish Restaurant in Hamtramck, which they owned and operated for 37 years until their retirement in 2020.
Stanley found great joy in fishing, hunting, music, and dancing. He loved being surrounded by people and was always the first to sing Happy Birthday or Sto Lat to anyone marking a special occasion. His warm, outgoing nature and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Karol and Teodozja Zacny, and his brother, Tadeusz. Stanley is survived by his loving wife, Alicja; his sons, Mark (Dawn) Zacny, Janusz (Beata) Zacny, Dan (Jennifer) Zacny, and John (Kristin) Zacny; as well as seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren who brought him immense pride and joy. He will be remembered for his deep dedication to family and the many cherished memories he created with those he loved most.
