Portland, TN
Stanley Wayne Burysek, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home on March 12, 2026, at the age of 91.
Born on August 17, 1934, in Portland, Tennessee, Stanley spent his life on the land he loved. A self-employed farmer known for his tireless work ethic, he took special pride in restoring Farmall tractors and often enjoyed a quiet cigar in his shed. He served his country in the United States Army and attended Immanuel Baptist Church as a child before worshiping for many years with his family at Franklin Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Rita Jackson Burysek, and their children: daughters Phyllis Madsen (Jeff) of Cottontown, Tennessee, Karen Faulkner (Chuck) of Cross Plains, Tennessee, Sharon Burysek of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, and son Doug Burysek of Portland, Tennessee. Stanley was the proud grandfather of eight grandchildren—Jenna (Christian) Butner, Mackenzie (Harrison) Zeitlin, Paige (Bryson) Shaw, Shelby (Brett) Guenther, Mallory Burysek, Macy (Kurt) Oliver, Will (Hailey) Faulkner, and Allie Burysek—and several great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind lifelong friends Ricky McCall and Leonard Groves, and nephews David Raupp, Brian Raupp, Kevin Raupp, Jason Raupp, and Danny Burysek.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Burysek and Kristy (Hradek) Burysek, his son Joe Burysek, 13 siblings, and three special nephews, Shannon Burysek, Channing Burysek, and Bronson Burysek. He will be remembered for his deep love of family, his dedication to farming, his humor, and his gentle spirit.
