Socorro Altamirano Frias

Socorro Altamirano Frias was born on October 15, 1943, in El Ranchito, Jalisco, Mexico, to her loving parents, Obdulia Ramirez and Tranquilino Altamirano. She grew up surrounded by a large and loving family, sharing siblings from her mother—Silvia Casillas, Teresa Galino, Francisca Ramos, Jose Cardenas, Roberto Cardenas, Jesus Cardenas, Maria Cardenas, and Pedro Cardenas—and from her father—Carmela Altamirano Salinas, Miguel Altamirano, Traquie Altamirano, Rene Altamirano, Alma Franco, Roberto Altamirano, and Jimmy Altamirano.

In February of 1960, Socorro married the love of her life, Candelario Frias Avalos. Together they built a beautiful life and were blessed with eight children: Bertha Silva, Silvia Almanza, Martha Flores, Esther Carrillo, Leticia Silva, Juan Frias, Raquel Nunez, and Samuel Frias. She became the proud matriarch of a large and loving family, leaving behind sixteen granddaughters, twelve grandsons, fifty-seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, each carrying forward her strength, love, and family values.

For over 30 years, Socorro worked in agriculture, laboring in the fields with determination, resilience, and unwavering dedication. Her hard work helped provide for her family and reflected the strength and perseverance that defined her life. She faced life's challenges with courage, faith, and dignity.

Above all, Socorro's greatest pride was her family. She devoted her life to raising her eight children with love, teaching them the values of unity, hard work, and compassion—values that continue to live on through the generations. She was a strong, loving, and devoted woman whose life was a testament to sacrifice, faith, and family. Her memory and spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
