SIGRID ANN CHAPMAN 1.16.1938 – 3.13.2026
Sigrid Ann Chapman, 88, of Florence, KY died peacefully on March 13, 2026, at Rosedale Green Nursing home in Covington, Kentucky after an 8 ½ month battle with lung and then brain cancer. She fought valiantly during this time and as her condition became more critical, she made peace with it all and decided she was ready to pass on from this life.
Sigrid was born on January 16, 1938, in LaFollette, Tennessee to Don and Juanita Campbell.
The family moved to Covington, KY where they made their home. Sigrid graduated from Holmes High School where she enjoyed being a Cheerleader. After graduation she married Ralph Chapman, and they began a family that came to include a daughter, Kelli and two sons, Kenny and Kerry.
Sigrid spent her days at home raising her children until she went into the work force as a young woman initially as a legal secretary for William P. Bulter and then as a bookkeeper for Adams Stepner, Wolterman & Dusing, PLLC.
She went on to work for the IRS, where she eventually retired.
Sigrid’s friends and family were very important to her, and she shared herself generously with love and kindness.
She loved to laugh and her laugh was truly infectious.
After spending time with her family, some of the things she thoroughly enjoyed about this life were: playing golf and cards with her lifelong friends, The Cincinnati Bengals, and University of Kentucky Basketball.
Those of us that knew her and loved her knew that the hardest thing about leaving this earth was having to say goodbye for now to her children Kelli, Kerry, her son-in-law John and her daughter’s sweet little dog, Miss Sadie-Bug who was a loving companion to her.
She is survived by her children: Kelli (and John) Kennedy of Florence, KY; Kenny Chapman, and Kerry Chapman (and girlfriend Karin) of Florence, KY. As well as her sisters: Donna (and Frank) Pepper of Westerville, OH; Debra J. Campbell; and sister in-law Irene Murray of Taylor Mill, KY; 2 Grandchildren; 7 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great, Great Grandchild along with several generations of Nieces and Nephews.
She was predeceased in death by her half-brother James Murray; sister Victoria Mae Campbell-Whitehead; Nephew Reggie Murray and Granddaughter Amy Overbay.
Sigrid cherished and loved the dogs that were blessed to be part of her life and her home which included: Jiggers,
Snow White, Buttons, Bows, Benson, Oliver, Willy and Sadie-Bug.
In lieu of flowers, we politely ask that any donations be made to The Humane Society of Northern Kentucky.

While we are deeply sad that this part of her journey is done, we are also so very happy for what it was…for the time we got to have with her, and for when she now will visit us in our dreams and surround us with her bright, loving energy until we are with her again, celebrating eternity.
Our family would like to thank those who knew her well for sharing her life. We wish each of you a very healthy and happy life.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Twin Oaks Golf & Magnolia Room from 2 pm to 5 pm.
