Washington, DC
Sidney “Sid” Johnson III passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born in Massachusetts on September 2, 1946, Sid was known for his quick wit and the captivating stories he brought back from his extensive travels around the world.
A proud graduate of St. Christopher’s School in Richmond, Virginia, and Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, Sid built a career that took him to many countries. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Jr. and Miriam Johnson, and his beloved wife, Suzanne Johnson. He is survived by his daughters, Samantha Brennan (Brian) and Alexandra Johnson, his sisters Susan Dyer (Paul) and Sally Simons (Tom), his sisters-in-law Evelyn Cole, Deborah Loconto, and Mary Ward (Tim), as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends across the globe.
