Shirley Ruth Campbell, 90, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026.
A longtime member of Tremont Baptist Church, Shirley found joy in playing golf, gathering with loved ones for card games and puzzles, and sharing her culinary gifts with her family. Her baking was especially cherished, highlighted by her famous Hershey’s chocolate cake that became a beloved tradition.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Henry “Sonny” Campbell; her granddaughter, Krista Campbell; her parents, James and Tennie Middleton; and eleven brothers and sisters.
She leaves behind her daughter, Deborah Campbell Ledbetter (Doug); her sons, Henry Lloyd Campbell (Patty) and Dale Campbell (Shelia); grandchildren Michael Ledbetter, Crystal Kearns, Chad Campbell, Brian Jordan, Christina Edwards, Dallas Campbell, Christopher Campbell, Brittany Hile, Brandon Campbell, and Briana Campbell; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
