Novel, 85, of Moundsville, WV; passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at WVU Medicine Reynolds Memorial Hospital.She was born November 7, 1940; the daughter of the late Matthew Jacob and Alta Lee (Brooks) Beyser.Shirley was a retired clerk for Hills Department Store and was a member of Moundsville Baptist Church.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Novel; six brothers, Lewis, Charles, Harold, Robert, Donald and James Beyser; four sisters, Doris Jean Harris, Evelyn Rodgers, Betty Ruckman, Nancy Ovies.Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.Family will receive friends on Thursday, March 19th from 10am until funeral service at noon at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave. Moundsville, with Pastor Brian Copeland officiating.Interment at Riverview Cemetery in Moundsville to follow.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be mailed to Moundsville Baptist Church, 1911 4th Street, Moundsville, WV 26041.Sympathy expressions at www.grisellfuneralhomes.comTo plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
