Shirley Milewsky "Cookie" Ludewig

Shirley "Cookie" Milewsky Ludewig, 79, of Steubenville, Ohio, passed away on March 11, 2026 at Sienna Woods following a lengthy illness. She was born on January 20, 1947 in Steubenville to the late Donald and Stella Moorehead Milewsky. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William "Pepper" Ludewig on July 30, 2023, her brother John "Bill" Milewsky on December 24, 2022, and an infant brother Edward.

A graduate of Catholic Central High School class of 1966, Shirley spent her working years at Kroger in Wintersville before retiring. She was a devoted wife, sister, and aunt whose quiet strength and warm presence left a lasting impression on those who knew her.

Shirley is survived by her brothers Donald Milewsky and Leroy (Clara Sue) Milewsky, her nieces Bridget Milewsky and Jennifer Caranna, and her two great-nieces Raven Chivers and Angel Caranna. Her family remains deeply grateful for the compassionate care she received from Buckeye Hospice and Palliative Care, the nurses and staff at Sienna Woods, and especially Kelly, along with her dear friends Sam Grafton and Joanne Thorne.
