She was born August 29, 1949, to the late Johnny and Rose Nell Kyzer.She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tonya Marie Simerley Penn, and son, Joey Simerley; brothers Johnny (Sonny) Kyzer, David Kyzer, and Jimmy Kyzer; and sisters Betty Harvey, Verna Joyner, Jane Reynolds, and Rebecca (Becky) Kyzer.Shirley retired from the Pulaski County Special School District, where she faithfully serves as a school bus driver for many years. She was known for caring deeply for the students she transported and took pride in making sure they arrived safely each day. She also spent many years selling produce at the Little Rock Farmers Market, where she enjoyed visiting with customers and sharing stories with the many people she met.Shirley never met a stranger. She loved talking with people and helping whenever she could. No one could tell a joke or spin a story quite like Shirley, and her laughter and personality left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.She is survived by her siblings, Elaine Scudder, Tony Kyzer, Glenda Fletcher, Linda Heffner, and Johnnie Sue Sherman.She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. While her passing brings sorrow, it is a comfort to know she has been reunited with her two children and many other loved ones who were waiting for her in heaven.Visitation will be held Thursday, March 12, 2026 from 6:00-8:00pm in the chapel at A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville. Funeral Service will follow on Friday, March 13, 2026 at 2:00pm in the chapel with burial to be held at Serenity Garden Cemetery in Jacksonville.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
