Beloved wife of the late Frederick D. Carter for 69 wonderful years. Dearest mother of Martin (Janis) Carter, Jeffrey (April) Carter, Gary Carter, and the late Timothy S. Carter. Cherished grandmother of Justin Carter and Erica (Joshua) Patterson. Loving sister of Terri (Steve) Johnson. Shirley is also preceded in death by her sisters, Elizabeth Centilli and Dorothy Jean (Thomas) Bryl, and her parents, Athern and Margaret Martin. Shirley spent her time as a homemaker, loving her four sons and 2 grandchildren. She attended all their sporting events, she enjoyed her home gardens and flowers, and she took pride in ensuring it was always well-kept. Shirley enjoyed card games, boating, and golf as well. Memorial visitation Saturday from 4-6 pm, with a Memorial Service held in Frederick and Shirley's honor at 6 pm at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons 36900 Schoenherr at Metro Parkway (16 Mile Rd). Frederick and Shirley will both be placed to rest at Cadillac Memorial Garden's East in Clinton Township, Michigan.
