Shirley Louise Brackins

Shirley Louise Brackins, age 86, of Pacolet, South Carolina, passed away on March 13, 2026, at White Oak Rehabilitation in North Grove, Spartanburg.

She is survived by her son, Wayne Brackins (Melanie), and grandson, James Kelley, all of Pacolet. She also leaves behind her sisters, Katherine Blackwell (Paul) and Clara Mae Rochester, her brother-in-law, Tommy Brackins, along with many cousins and special nieces and nephews. Shirley was the widow of James “Bill” Dennis Brackins and the beloved daughter of the late Walter Lee and Mae Lee.

A graduate of Pacolet High School, Shirley began her career with Spartanburg School District 3, where she dedicated 46 years of service before retiring. A longtime member of First Baptist Church of Pacolet, she faithfully served as church secretary and in other roles. Her family remembers her deep love for the Lord, her unconditional devotion to them, and the joy she found in gardening, tending her yard, and caring for her beloved pet, Mandy. She will be fondly remembered for her generous spirit, her willingness to help others, and her wonderful baking.

Shirley’s life was marked by quiet faithfulness, kindness, and a steadfast love for her family and community. She leaves behind cherished memories that will continue to comfort and inspire those who knew and loved her.
