Shirley Lee Jefferson

Shirley Lee Jefferson, 90, of Lowell, passed away at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. She was born on November 4, 1935, in Marland, Oklahoma, to Dell Lee Sanders and Tillie Re Etta Freeman Sanders.

Shirley found quiet joy in simple pleasures. She bowled in leagues for many years and earned the affectionate nickname “hummingbird lady” for the delight she took in caring for and watching the tiny birds. She loved gathering family and friends for cookouts, sharing stories, and traveling across the country whenever she could.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alan Jefferson; her daughter, Cynthia Jefferson; two brothers, Bob Cunningham and Rusty Sanders; and one sister, Leota Meyers.

She is survived by her son, Tom Jefferson; her daughter, Stephanie Cline; her sister, Bonnie Bamberg; four grandchildren, Robert Clements, Jr., Crystal Downs, Randy Overton, Jr., and Heather Cline; and six great-grandchildren.
