Jean lived a faith-filled life with a passionate love for her family. She was a faithful prayer warrior on our behalf, asking our Lord for His care and protection.Jean and her beloved husband, Winfred, were married 59 years, raising their family in Clinton and in Second Baptist Church, where they worshiped and served since 1971. She was employed several years at Clinton Public Library. Jean was a great cook and loved having her family around the table. She was artistic, a talented seamstress and enjoyed decorating her home. She made holidays and ordinary days very special. With her calm and gentle spirit she exuded love and peace. Our mother was our home.Jean is preceded in death by her parents, H.L. and Georgia Messamore, her beloved husband Winfred Webb Woods, and brother, Vern Messamore.Her children and grandchildren, of whom were her pride and joy, are left to cherish her memory. They include: children, Janice Miller and husband, Dennis; Theresa Utley and husband Chuck; Shane Woods and wife, Tina; grandchildren, Jared (Bethany) Miller, Jordan (Sierra) Miller, Clayton Utley, Jackson (Aleigha) Utley, Isabella Woods; great-children, Luca Miller, Greenleigh Miller, River Miller, Landon Miller, Brooke Cunningham; sister, Regina Byrd; sister-in-law, Judy Woods Rhyne; several nieces and nephews, and dear friends.The family will receive friends Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Second Baptist Church, with her funeral to follow. Her pastor, Dr. Michael Thompson officiating.
