Shirley Deen Fox

Shirley Deen Fox, age 84, of Madison, Florida, passed away on March 8, 2026, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Georgia, after an extended illness.

Born on December 7, 1941, in Nicholls, Georgia, to William Monroe Hutcheson and Georgie Kathleen Hersey Hutcheson, Shirley spent her working life as a salesclerk. She served many years at Belleflowers Pharmacy, Madison Drugs, and later at CVS. Above all, she cherished her role as a mother and grandmother, finding her greatest joy in the company of her grandchildren, as well as in shopping and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents and all eleven of her siblings: brothers Robert, Lonnie, Joe, Warnie, Carl, and Alan Hutcheson; and sisters Mattie Mae H. Sweat, Bet H. Nobles, Eloise H. Price, Mary Jo H. Smith, and Helen H. Osburne.

Shirley is survived by her three children, Tony Adams and his wife Darlene of Kathleen, Georgia, Angela A. Commander of Valdosta, Georgia, and Allen Adams and his wife Amanda of Lee, Florida; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members who will carry her memory forward.
