Shirley Dean Lenox

Shirley Dean Lenox, age 72, of Willis, Texas, passed away on March 9, 2026.

Born on December 27, 1954, in Houston, Texas, Shirley spent many years working as an LVN in long-term care. She possessed a servant’s heart and found deep fulfillment in caring for her patients. She also had a lifelong passion for gardening, spending countless hours tending to her plants and flowers. Her love for animals was equally strong; she could not bear to see one abandoned and spent years rescuing and fostering countless cats and dogs.

Above all, Shirley cherished her role as the favorite aunt and great-aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her quiet kindness and generous spirit.

She is survived by her sisters, Linda King (Dana) and Janice Collier (Otis); her nieces and nephews, Christi Spicer, Daniel Utley, Anjanette Spicer, Melissa Hicks (Jerry), Wende Wallingsford (Chad), Cassie Tomchik (Gary), and Lindsey King-Alaniz (Josh); and numerous great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Lenox; her mother, Ivadene Spicer; her brothers, Gary Spicer and Jimmy Spicer; and her sister, Nancy McDonald.
