Shirley Ann Williams, a dearly loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully in Lindsay, Oklahoma, on March 13, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on December 16, 1954, in Lindsay to Virgil and Wanda (Wood) Hamilton, Shirley lived a life marked by love, laughter, and deep connection to those around her.
Alongside her beloved husband, John, Shirley served faithfully in ministry. She taught children, participated in women’s ministry at their church and in the association, and could always be counted on to create costumes for church productions. She also sewed clothing for her son Michael and for herself. When Michael was young and admired Dallas Cowboys quarterback Danny White, Shirley crafted a Cabbage Patch-style doll in his likeness, complete with a Cowboys jersey, and affectionately named it Danny Boom Boom.
An excellent cook and baker, Shirley brought joy to her family and friends through her meals and taught Michael to cook many dishes, a skill that has served him well throughout his life. Above all, she was a godly mother who modeled a strong work ethic and encouraged everyone she met to do their best, to go above and beyond for others and for the Lord, and to be prepared and attentive to the needs of those around them.
She is survived by her husband, John; son Michael Williams and his wife Rebecca of Norman, Oklahoma; grandchildren Olivia and Marilyn Williams; her mother, Wanda Hamilton of Lindsay; and her brothers Larry Hamilton and wife Ree of Solo, Missouri, David Hamilton and wife Kay of Norman, David Hamilton and wife Kay of Norman, Oklahoma, Darrell and wife Debra of Lindsay, Oklahoma, and Steve and wife Mary of Paducah, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Hamilton.
