Shirley Ann Powers

Shirley Ann Powers, age 76 of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 8, 2026. Born on May 4, 1949, in Adel, Georgia, she was the daughter of Welburn Martin Fender and Ida Bell Browning Fender.

Shirley was a dedicated inspector who took great pride in her work at Dowling Bag and Levi’s. She approached every task with a strong work ethic and careful attention to detail. A woman of deep faith, she found joy and comfort in her church family at Grace Baptist Church. In her quieter moments, she cherished playing bingo and spending peaceful days fishing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Mark Powers; her sisters, Jean Morrell and Geneva Bennett; and her brothers, Bobby Joe Fender and W. M. (Louise) Fender.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Judy Ann Smith (Rodney) of Valdosta, Georgia; her son, Billy Ray Powers (Dana) of Valdosta, Georgia; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Lois Henderson of Moultrie, Georgia, and Louise Ross of Moultrie, Georgia.
