Uxbridge, MA
Shirley A. (Ross) Griffith, 83, formerly of East Hartford Avenue in Uxbridge, passed away on March 11, 2026, after a period of declining health. Born in Uxbridge on August 11, 1942, she was the daughter of Exziphir and Annette (Savage) Ross. She grew up in Uxbridge, attended Good Shepherd School and the local public schools, and spent her life in the community she loved.
Shirley worked as a weaver at Stanley Woolen Mills, later as a direct caregiver for special needs clients at The Ledges in Hopedale, and was previously employed by General Electric in Ashland. She found joy in crocheting, sewing, playing cards—especially Scat and bingo—and occasional trips to the casino. An avid cat lover, she cherished the companionship of her beloved cat, Binx. Above all, she deeply loved her family and treasured every moment spent with them.
She was predeceased by her husband of 27 years, Francis Griffith, who died in 2015; her daughter, Cheryl Beaudreau; her son-in-law, Jeffrey Goglia; three brothers, Joseph, Marcel, and George Ross; and two sisters, Lorraine Lavallee and Eva Thurber.
Shirley is survived by her six children, Steven Demery and his wife Lori of Conway, South Carolina, Brenda Goglia of Danielson, Connecticut, Michael Demery and his wife Irma of Blackstone, David Beaudreau and his wife Robin of Uxbridge, Edward Hryzan and his wife Sandra of Northbridge, and Sandra Marcotte and her husband Steven of Woonsocket, Rhode Island; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one on the way; as well as several nieces and nephews.
