Cogan, age 89, passed away on March 1, 2026 in Glen Mills, PA. Shirley was born in Syracuse, NY, and later lived in Kirkville, where she graduated from Minoa High School. She made her home in Glen Mills, PA for the past 29 years. Shirley was known for keeping a well-maintained home and took pride in working with her hands. She enjoyed crocheting and other creative projects. She deeply loved her family and extended family and found great joy in being surrounded by them. Faith and spirituality were the cornerstone of Shirley's life. Shirley led by example, teaching her children the importance of kindness, compassion, prayer, and gratitude. Her spiritual foundation was not only personal, but something she intentionally passed on to her family, creating a lasting legacy of faith. Recently she attended Meadowcroft Presbyterian Church.She was the daughter of the late John and Alva Moynihan; the beloved wife of the late Edward T. Cogan; and the sister of the late Gerald Moynihan, Janet Mattox, and Richard Grover.She is survived by her daughters, Theresa Gordon (Bruce) and Susan Gannon; her siblings, Judy Witchley, Linda Treible, Richard Moynihan, Dave Moynihan, Thomas Grover, Beverly Freytag, and Jack Moynihan; as well as six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.Services and burial are private.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
