Sherry Lynn Dilla

August 3, 1950 March 15, 2026

St. Joseph, MO

Sherry Lynn Dilla, 75, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away peacefully surrounded by love on Sunday, March 15, 2026. Born on August 3, 1950, in Chillicothe, Missouri, to Emma Helen Marie Hicks and Adrian McCracken, Sherry spent her first twelve years under the devoted care of her grandmother, Sallie “Granny” Hicks. At age twelve she moved to Dallas, Texas with her mother, where her life unfolded in its own vibrant and unmistakable way.

Sherry worked a variety of jobs over the years, from bartending to pressing clothes. In 1994 she became disabled, yet she never lost the spirited personality that defined her. On November 29, 1991, she married Robert E. Dilla, who became her steady partner and the love of her life. Robert’s unwavering devotion, patience, and loyalty gave Sherry the stability and deep-rooted home she had long sought.

She was the beloved mother of Randall Pardue of Florida, Rodney Pardue (Anna) of Texas, and Rhonda Pardue Bullmaster (Edward) of Missouri. Sherry was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren—Tristyn Pitard, Katelyn Bullmaster, Rodney “Samuel” Pardue, Edward Bullmaster, Macy Vogt, and Tyler Pardue—sharing especially close bonds with those who lived nearby. She also cherished her three great-grandchildren, with a fourth on the way.

Known for her bold humor and colorful presence, Sherry loved Christmas, Westerns, shopping, and sparkling jewelry. She could often be heard singing “You Are My Sunshine” or “O Christmas Tree,” and in later years she delighted in Snapchat filters, laughing heartily at the results. Though she carried many hardships and health challenges, Sherry remained resilient and full of love. She now rests in peace, reunited with her mother and sister.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Larry McCracken and Loretta “Randy” Martinez. Sherry is survived by her devoted husband, Robert E. Dilla; her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and her siblings Adrian McCracken, Bryant McCracken, Candace Sue Esterbrook, and Barbara Bryant.
