Sherry Jones Breaux

Baton Rouge, LA

Sherry Jones Breaux, 73, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born on November 14, 1952, to June Hidalgo and Johnny Jones, Sherry graduated from Berwick High School in 1970. She devoted her life to her family, serving as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose days were centered on nurturing those closest to her.

For fifty years she shared a deep and steady partnership with her husband, Dale Breaux. Together they raised three children: Dawn Andrus Schwartz (Chris Schwartz), Stacy Breaux Brown (Stephen Brown), and Nicholas Breaux-Fujita (Dr. Sohei Breaux-Fujita). Sherry found her greatest joy in her grandchildren—Sebastian Schwartz, Wesley Brown, Elise Brown, and Nicholas (Nico) Breaux-Fujita III—who were the light of her life. She remained closely connected to her brother, Kevin Jones, and took special interest in her niece and nephews, Chelsea Jones, Kyle Jones, and Brian McConnell II.

She is remembered for her quiet, steadfast presence at every school event, sports practice, and hobby her children pursued, and later for the same devoted attendance at her grandchildren’s activities. Sherry’s gentle strength and unwavering love left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, June Hidalgo, Ken Hidalgo, and Johnny Jones, and by her sister, Deborah McConnell.
