He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Julian and Emma Ross; his sisters, Latanie Hopkins and Julia Yardley; his wife Sandra Wells; his son Russell; and his wife Vivien.

He is survived by: his brother Kenneth; his daughter Kathleen; his stepdaughter Kelly Coffelt (John Coffelt); his grandchildren, Kate, Ellis and Carter Coffelt; and his sister-in-law Konnie Kittrell. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 27th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Chattanooga National Cemetery (1200 Bailey Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404).
