Sherman Leland Luckey, 84, of Kountze, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont.
A native of Bess May, Texas, he spent many years as a resident of Kountze and worked as a construction worker until his retirement. Known for his quiet strength and steady presence, Sherman lived a life rooted in the East Texas communities he called home.
He is survived by his brother, Leonard Luckey of Tennessee; sisters, Hersey Kirk and Kent of Rose City and Marci LaCap of Buna; and a granddaughter, Lee Ann Stanley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Timothy Luckey and Evelyn Inex Gassiot; sisters Audrey Howard, Lois Lancaster, Brenda Asher, Lucille Hale, and Jo Ann Burke; and brothers Jerry Luckey and Timothy Luckey.
