He was predeceased by: his parents, Lennie Joseph Bennefield and Verna Mae Bennefield (Alms); his wife Frances Inez Wood Bennefield; his children, Morris Bennefield and Angela Brown; and his sister Joyce Faye Quinn.

He is survived by: his son Shelton; his grandchildren, Travis Bennefield, Mindy (Dustin), Kayla Bennefield, Kadie'Jo (Enrique), Savannah (Josh), Brandi Melton, Kenna Grice and John Glasser; his great grandchildren, Ryder, Creed, Brantley, Caden, Oliver, Alyson, Alana, Aric, Emmitt and Josiah; and his brother James Vernon Bennefield.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Harmon County Funeral Home (417 E Broadway St, Hollis, OK 73550).
