Shelia Jean Hummel

Shelia Jean McDonald Hummel, age 65 of Lake Village, Arkansas, passed away on March 13, 2026, at CHI St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock. Born on January 17, 1961, in Monticello, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Grady Aubrey Smith and Willie Jean Stewart Smith.

Shelia worked for many years as a cashier at Sullivan’s in Lake Village and was a woman of Baptist faith. She found simple joy in fishing, riding through the countryside with her husband while sipping a Diet Coke, but nothing meant more to her than time spent with her family and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Phillip Adrian McDonald, and two great-grandchildren, Jacob Winters and Denham Woods. She is survived by her husband, Paul Hummel of Lake Village; her children, Michael Shane McDonald of Pine Bluff, Brandy McDonald and April Brooks, both of Lake Village; her grandchildren, Maria, Alex, Stormy, Jason, Jessie, Lorena, Carmen and Dylan; and her great-grandchildren, Denver and Reyna.
