Shelby Jean Gay

Shelby Jean Gay, 69, of Marianna, Florida, passed away on March 8, 2026, at her residence.

Born on December 30, 1956, in Hollywood, Florida, to the late Julia and Robert Paige, Shelby married the love of her life, Larry David Gay, on May 27, 1977, in Pompano Beach, Florida. The couple shared 49 loving years together before making their home in Cottondale, Florida.

She found simple pleasures in watching Blind the Billionaire, listening to George Strait, singing karaoke, and gathering with her family. Shelby especially cherished the Thanksgiving holiday and its traditions of food and togetherness. Above all, her greatest joy was the time spent surrounded by those she loved.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry David Gay; her parents, Julia and Robert Paige; her brother, Wayne Paige; and her sisters, Mae Robertson, Teresa Teston, Shirley Paige, and Sheila Corbin.

Shelby is survived by her son, William Gay (Kerri) of Marianna, Florida; granddaughters, Destiny and Trinity Commander of Marianna, Florida; her brothers, David “Bubba” Paige and Kenneth Robertson, Jr.; her sisters, Regina “P-Nut” Seaton (Bill) of Marianna, Florida, and Gladys Vaughan (Shannon) of Blackshear, Georgia; her soul sister, Jerroldine Seaton; along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
