Carl Evans Parker Jr. was born on February 4, 1955, in Cleveland and passed away peacefully in his hometown of Shelby on March 4, 2026, at the age of 71. A man of passion, dedication, and quiet strength, Carl lived a life centered on his family and the work he truly loved.

He spent his career at Freightliner in the textile industry, where his expertise and genuine enthusiasm for his craft earned the respect of those around him. Known for his commitment and willingness to tackle any challenge, Carl inspired others through his steady work ethic. He was a faithful member of Patterson Springs Baptist Church.

Outside of work, Carl found great joy in racing cars and building engines. His mechanical talents were legendary, famously extending even to assembling an engine in his kitchen. These pursuits brought excitement and wonder to his family and friends, reflecting his creative and adventurous spirit.

Above all, Carl cherished his beloved wife, Gloria Parker, with whom he shared a life of warmth, laughter, and deep mutual respect. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, he is survived by his loving mother, Delores F. Cody, and the late Garland Cody. He leaves behind his biological daughter, Angie Yancey, and her three children, Jessica Brooke and husband Casey Brooke, Quinton McCluney, and Austin Parker, all of Shelby. He is also survived by three stepchildren, Katie Sizemore and husband Josh Sizemore of Easley, South Carolina, Danielle Renew and husband James Renew of Greenville, South Carolina, and Brandon Nanney of Shelby. Additional survivors include his brother, Jimmy Wayne Parker, stepbrothers Jerry Parker, Ricky Cody, and Steve Cody, as well as Dennis Lemmons and Richard Lemmons of Lattimore. Carl shared a very special bond with his mother-in-law, Margaret Lemons. His legacy of kindness and inspiration lives on through his grandchildren and all those who knew and loved him.
