Sheila Walsh, 78, of Dubuque, passed away on March 7, 2026. Born on March 20, 1947, in Dubuque, Iowa, to William and Doloras (Crimmins) Hendricks, she graduated from Wahlert Catholic High School in 1965. On November 24, 1966, she married the love of her life, John V. Walsh. Sheila spent much of her career as an executive secretary at Loras College, where she touched the lives of countless faculty, staff, and students through her dedication and care.

Her greatest joy was her family. Sheila devoted herself to loving and nurturing her husband, daughters, grandchildren, siblings, and friends, finding deep fulfillment in every shared moment. A woman of strong faith, she was actively involved at the Church of the Resurrection, particularly through CEW and Marriage Encounter. She lived her beliefs through quiet service, steadfast friendship, and countless acts of kindness. With a generous heart and gentle spirit, Sheila always placed the needs of others before her own. Her warmth, wisdom, and quiet strength left a profound and lasting impression on all who knew her. She found special delight in the simple beauty of nature, especially cardinals, which served as a cherished symbol of her faith and God’s presence in her life.

Sheila is survived by her husband, John; her daughters, Kelly (Walsh) Hunt of Rocky River, Ohio, Kim (Monte Pedersen) Walsh of Galena, Illinois, and Krista (Mike) Weitz of Dubuque, Iowa; her grandchildren, Mackenzie Hunt (Lucas Bihl), Matthew Hunt, Noah Weitz, Catherine Hunt, John Weitz, Maria Hunt, and Maren Pedersen; her siblings, Janet (John) Young, Bob (Kathy) Hendricks, and Mary Jo (Jerry); and brother-in-law, Bob Cate. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her granddaughter, Anna Weitz; her son-in-law, Terry Hunt; her siblings, Don (Karen) Hendricks, Sharon Cate, and Terry Hendricks; her nephews, David Hendricks, Kevin Young, and Chris Young; and her niece, Danielle Cate.
